Thanks to our friends at the Hummingbird Music Project and some great local musicians, we had a fabulous Thanksgiving day benefit, called Give Thanks for Sight, with food and dancing at Rancho La Gitana in Tzurumútaro.
This one-of-a-kind pachanga was held on November 22nd, which was both Thanksgiving Day and the Feast of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of musicians. We gave thanks by giving sight while enjoying beautiful roots music from both sides of the border.
We heard great music from Kentucky’s Corn Maize, Fireside Collective from North Carolina, and from the lake region, Coro Mintsitarhu Anapu and the Rondalla Patzcuarense.
We raised almost enough money at this event and with direct donations to almost take care of 5 eye surgeries. Five lives changed!
We still have a shortfall to take care of our list, and will continue to fundraise until we can cover this important Christmas list. If you can help meet this urgent need, please donate using your credit card or PayPal account by clicking the button below.
